Career Dress Up Day today for Gear Up Week!

Kettle corn is here @ Burdine! It can be picked up after 12 today.

We'll be sharing these each week to help our students and parents stay engaged. Big shoutout to our guy on the mic, Eli Cornett, for helping us get these out every morning! ☀️

A special shout-out to Jenkins senior, Kale Owens, who tied for 1st place! With tournament play coming up soon, he's playing well at the perfect time.
Keep swinging, Kale, and good luck to all our Cav golfers! GO CAVS! 🏌️♂️🏆

Physics Fun at JMHS: Egg Drop Challenge a Success!
Students in Mrs. Hubbard's science classes at Jenkins Middle High recently put their physics knowledge to the test with the classic Egg Drop Challenge. The experiment proved to be a big success, combining hands-on learning with a little friendly competition.
Students were tasked with designing a protective carrier for a raw egg, which was then dropped from a second-story window. The goal was to build a device that could protect the egg from the forces of gravity, drag, and impact.
Throughout the project, students learned about key scientific principles, including:
Kinetic Energy and Momentum: Understanding how a falling object's speed and momentum increase.
Force and Impact: The difference between a sharp, destructive force and a gradual, cushioned impact.
Engineering and Design: The importance of building a structure that can absorb and distribute force effectively.
Many of the creative designs successfully protected their eggs, proving that a little physics know-how can go a long way. As you can tell from the pics, some eggs cracked but students surely shared smiles and learning! The successful project was a great reminder that learning can be challenging and a lot of fun.
Jenkins Schools appreciates Mrs. Hubbard for her dedication and thoughtful approach to making science fun. She's a legend!

Mrs. Carter’s fourth grade science class practiced building systems today to see how all parts work together to achieve a function! #handsonscience #inquirybasedlearning

Friday’s Positive Office Referral was Paisylee Smith! Paisylee was a true Cav during math on Friday. She was on task and trying her best!
