
Yesterday students in Mrs. Carter's 4th Grade Writing Class wrote a recipe and shared some delicious cupcakes with staff for Teacher Appreciation Day! Checkout their recipe!
Whipped Icing Recipe
By: Mrs. Carter’s 4th Graders
Ingredients
*Heavy Whipping Cream
*Powdered Sugar
*Pudding Mix
First, gather all of your ingredients. Second, add 2 cups of heavy whip[ping cream to a bowl. Using a hand mixer, mix on high for 2 minutes. Third, add ¼ c of powdered sugar and continue to mix. Last, add a package of pudding mix, any flavor of your choice. Mix until it is all incorporated. Be sure not to over mix, it will turn into butter!




Jenkins Independent School District is pleased to announce free meals will be provided to children during the summer break. These meals are open to anyone age 18 and under. There will be a daily congregate site at Jenkins Middle High School and a weekly non-congregate meal pickup site at Burdine Elementary.
Jenkins Middle High School:
Monday - Friday May 20 - June 14, 2024 (No meal service on Memorial Day, May 27th)
Meal service times: Breakfast 8:30 - 10:00 Lunch 11:00 - 12:30
Meal must be eaten on site. No income requirements and no registration requirements.
Burdine Elementary School Bulk Pickup:
Monday May 20, 2024 11:00 - 3:00
Fridays, May 24 - June 28, 2024 11:00 - 3:00
After June, Friday bulk meal pickup will be at Jenkins Middle High Campus.
Friday Bulk Meals will consist of seven breafasts and seven lunches. There are no income requirements, however, parents/guardians must fill out a request for meals pickup form.

Friday Preschool took a trip to the Rec Center and to Dairy Queen to celebrate the end of a great year! Our youngest Cavaliers had a wonderful day! Thanks Ms. Amber and Ms. Erica for being the best preschool team.

The past week we have spent some time celebrating students' hard work. Students in grades K-2 got to "pie" the principal if they scored proficient or distinguished on the Winter MAP test to pump them up for Spring MAP testing. Students in grades 3-5 got to "pie" their principal for scoring proficient or distinguished on the Spring MAP test. Students in grades 3-5 also participated in the Cavalier Games, where 5th grade took home the W winning 3/4 of the games.
Burdine is ready to take on all end of year testing!











Preschool students are studying life cycles in action! They are so excited to see them hatch.

First grade students really enjoyed STEM class with Mr. Johnson today! Students built boats out of different materials to see which one could hold the most weight. Faith's boat held the most pennies! Congratulations Faith!
