📢 School Schedule Update – Tuesday, December 16
Due to hazardous conditions on several secondary roads throughout the district, Jenkins Independent Schools will be closed to in-person instruction on Tuesday, December 16, and we will operate on a Non-Traditional Instruction (NTI) Day.
While some main roads may be passable, many secondary roads remain unsafe for buses, staff, and student drivers. For transparency, photos of these road conditions will be shared to help our community understand the decision.
📘 NTI Expectations
Students should log in and complete assignments as directed by their teachers.
Teachers will post assignments and be available during regular school hours.
Attendance will be taken based on participation and assignment completion.
Students are expected to engage in learning just as they would on a regular school day.
The safety of our students and staff is always our top priority, and we appreciate your understanding and support.

Student learning materials have already been provided through online platforms or packets, and teachers will be available to support students and families throughout the day via school email and Rooms in the JIS app.

Second grade is crushing the Attendance War! The last two weeks the trophy has went to them. Mrs. Tackett's had the highest attendance for the week of Nov. 1st-5th and Mrs. Cantrells had the highest for the week of Dec. 1st-5th.

The preschool bus will also run an hour later than normal tomorrow. Preschool will begin at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 9th.

This year instead of asking students and families to send in gifts for a gift exchange every classroom collected items to take to the nursing home. Our youngest students kicked off the visits last week!
