Earlier this year, Jenkins Independent Schools planned to attend the Kentucky State Beta Convention in Lexington—but a snowstorm kept us home. That didn’t stop a few of our students from competing virtually, and Gunner made the most of the opportunity!
Gunner earned 4th place in Division I Creative Writing at the Kentucky State Senior Beta Convention with a powerful short fiction piece written in response to a prompt. This impressive finish qualified him to compete at the National Beta Convention, which he completed virtually just a couple of weeks ago!
