Burchell was awarded with the ISTE Making IT Happen award at the April meeting of Region 8 Technology Coordinators. Mr. Burchell has been the liaison between the Kentucky Department of Education and Region 8 districts for technology, including Jenkins Independent. After 48 years in education, Mr. Burchell retired at the end of 2018. Jenkins Independent would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mr. Burchell for his years of service in support and advocacy for our students and the students of Eastern Kentucky in the area of educational technology.
