During the month of January, JES students will be participating in a fundraiser titled, "Pennies for Patients".  All money collected will be donated to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society (LSS).  During last year's fundraiser, we collected a total of $500 dollars as a school!  This year, we have set a new goal for $600.  Each student will receive a collection box to fill with coins; once the box is filled, they simply turn it in to the school!  We wil take care of the rest.  Please know that students are not required to participate - this is on a voluntary basis.

Afternoon Dismissal

Welcome Back, Cavaliers!

Thanks for a wonderful first semester of school.  I’m looking forward to the remainder of the year and all the many things that are in store for us!

As you are aware, the safety of our students is a huge priority at JES, therefore, this semester we will be reinstating the afternoon pick up system as it was originally designed.

During dismissal, the school parking lot is a very busy place!  With that in mind, it is our desire to have very few people (students, parents and staff) walking in this area due to the heavy traffic population, so, with guidance and support from the Jenkins Police Department, JES staff is asking for your cooperation in quickly and easily resolving the matter.

Procedures for afternoon student pick-ups are as follows:

  • We ask for you to please refrain from entering the building to pick up your child for afternoon dismissal.
  • In addition, please do not park and walk to the student exit door to pickup your child.
  •  All parents should remain in their vehicles and follow traffic around our neighboring Burdine Free Will Baptist Church
  • Students will be escorted to the correct vehicle by school staff

This procedure was previously developed to ensure a safe afternoon pick-up system, and from previous experience, we know that is works successfully.  Please know that this it is not our desire to create a hardship, but rather, to keep all of our students safe.   We appreciate your cooperation with this matter!

Implementation will begin January 2, 2017.

Thanks in Advance,

Mrs. Collier
